dissertation page count

is at 135 to go. The count of the first two chapters is 65. This also is a bit slippery as with each new chapter, I’m expecting to add another page or two to the first chapter. As such, when things are all said and done I need about 35 pages per chapter.

The good thing is that now that the theory chapter is complete, I am pretty sure it’s definitely do-able.

Clear your calendars for July of 2009, that’s when I’m guessing I’ll defend it.

It really depends on when the 10 year reunion is scheduled. It needs to be defended before then.

newest books.

I was at the bookstore yesterday and picked up a couple three books as a nice reward for getting my dissertation out. It was either that or video games, but it’d been a while since I had gotten some good books.

The Dark Wraith of Shannara by Terry Brooks
The Savage Tales of Solomon Kane by Robert E. Howard
People of the Dark by Robert E. Howard

Nothing like pulp fantasy fiction from the writer of the Shannara series and the others from the guy who came up with Conan the Barbarian.

Good times, good times.

I surprise myself

sometimes. I wasn’t sure what to have for supper, so I meandered through my freezer. Turns out that I had about 2-3 chicken breasts sitting frozen. So then I meandered through my fridge, there was a third of a can of chile tomatoes. So then I meandered through my cupboard and found a can of black beans with jalapenos. So then I meandered through my cookbook and found my tortilla recipe. So then I meandered through and made tortillas, burrito filling made of black beans, chicken, and tomatoes, and supper. It was really tasty. My tortillas turned out perfectly. I used a a scant 2/3rds cup water, and made sure that the surface I was rolling the tortillas out on was floured every two or three tortillas. They were quite tasty.

Sharon, can you email me from that recipe group again, and I”ll send out my recipes for tortillas, naan, and the chapatis bread.
