the black cubes

what’s inside the cubes?

The clues they give are:
Inside every cube there is something…
This thing has a precise sense while is closed in the cube
If you open the cube the meaning of this thing is irreparably lost
The only way to take possession of this meaning is to be inside the cube…

On the FAQS page, he says that the cube is the material representation of human curiosity. That’s one way of looking at it, I guess…but that adds a lot more that ruins the riddle of the boxes.

What’s in the cube?
Mystery. Not in the sense of “it’s a mystery what’s in the box”, but in the sense that that is what is ACTUALLY INSIDE THE BOX. Mystery. If you open the box, the mystery of what’s truly inside is gone.

So if you open the box, there won’t be that sense of mystery.

I’m glad we’ve had this conversation.

safe to say I won’t be buying one of the cubes. I’ve got enough mystery trying to figure out why my cat is so crazy.

tonights menu

tacos with homemade tortillas.

*edit* note to self: next time with the tortillas, use less water more flour. it’ll make it easier to roll out, won’t be as sticky.
