Chapter 2: Done

Finished it up this afternoon, roughly 62 doublespaced pages. Add that to my intro chapter (13 pages) and we’ve got 75 total. Only 125 pages to go.

Except that in editing this chapter, it’ll probably drop down to about 45-50 pages. Not too shabby still, and stuff will be added/subtracted/changed once the committee gets their hands on it. Good times, good times.

I find it’s helpful to look at writing the dissertation as a modern/academic creation of a suit of armor and weapons. The research is mining the ore, the beginning writing is smelting said ore. Editing is hammering out the basic shapes of the weapon/armor. This chapter I’m working on would be the sword…it’s the method with which I’m going to be defending/attacking myths about alcohol. So I’ve mined and smelted the ore, now it’s time to begin the smithing.

True facts.
