I took a bunch of pictures, but the following ones are the best of the bunch. I went to Vegas with about 8 other folks (classmates from Pacifica and their respective others) and we wore crazy hats and walked around and saw the sites. It was a good time. Click the thumbnails for the larger images. This is a photo heavy post, no apologies.
Monday night we visited New York New York.
The next day we went to the Luxor. I didn’t get a shot of the pyramid from the outside, but the following pics are from the inside:

My Friend John pointing out that the egyptians invented the blues.
While at the Luxor we went on the motion ride “In Search of the Crystal Obelisk”…avoid this as if your life depended on it. Also, don’t listen to old tourists in blue jumpsuits on what to do. After that fiasco, we went to King Tut’s tomb.
In this last picture in King Tut’s tomb, John deciphered the ancient heiropglyphics telling where the bathroom was, as is represented by the Sun and the golden “rays” that dropped down from it. You can’t make this stuff up, folks. Egyptians were crazy.
And of course, there’s this youtube video, showing precisely how much you can trust mythology students to make a mockery out of ancient and historical replicas:
You’ll notice that we’re (almost all of us) wearing hats. I had on a viking helmet, there was a Fedora and a bowler hat. There was an attempt to get the unhatted to wear a head covering, but it didn’t turn out well.
The hat says “good times”, the face says “kill everyone”.
Anyhoo, after king tut, we made our way outdoors.
This is an ancient egyptian beard attachment.
If only this had been the obelisk we were searching for, everything would have been much much better.
After the Luxor, we headed over to Mandalay Bay…just over the sphinx’s paw.
While there, we checked out the shark reef aquarium thingy there, it was a good time. In the interest of brevity, if you want to check out some videos, here are the following links (rather than embedding them):

After Mandalay bay, we headed on over to the MGM. Inside they had lions and this weird alien sculpture thingy over the central area:
I got some shots of the lions, but they weren’t very good. Sure it was the mane event, but either they were just lion around or the pics were so bad they hurt my pride. I veldt pretty bad. mooooving right along…
After the MGM we meandered about for a bit, went to the Wynn got the tickets, and on the way back stopped in the venetian…not really much like venice at all. No garbage, italian people, or crumbling buildings. Still, all of this indoors was pretty amazing.
After the venetian, we went to the hard rock to eat supper, and then back to the wynn to watch spamalot. It was a good time hanging out with friends.
