what I did over labor day weekend

I played Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess on ye olde wii.

holy cow. honestly. 50+ hours spent on the game. That’s a record for zelda. That’s also a record for me for most video games. See, the difference between THIS 50 hours (total) and a Final Fantasy 50 hours is the amount of grinding (read: walking around killing peon monsters to get the levels up so you don’t get slaughtered at the end boss). This game? A total of MAYBE 1.5 hours grinding (and that was trying to find the bugs (to get the larger wallet (to get more rupees (no not the indian money (though some of that in RL would be cool(though not as good as a dollar I suppose (holy cow! nested parentheses!))))))).

All in all, a fantastic game. Congrats Nintendo.

Now that that’s out of the way, time to get started on my dissertation. and MAYBE get ahead enough so that when I HOPEFULLY get Metroid Prime 3 for my b-day the schedule won’t be upset too much.

apparently

september is the hot month in ventura. it’s currently 77 in my apartment, there’s no breeze outside, and the fans are on.

I remember how warm it was last year when I moved in, but I attributed that to all the lifting and the running. I was wrong. It’s warm here.

The other 11 months make up for it though. no real big complaints about those.

The only real problem, I suppose, is brewing beer when it’s this warm. *sigh* the sacrifices I make for school.

Admiration

So I was watching a commercial the other day, and that Planters Peanuts guy was running around playing sports. Something or another about eating peanuts while watching the sporting events that he was taking part in.

I’ve only got one thing to say:

If more people wore top hats and monocles while playing sports, I’d watch them more. Hell, maybe I’d even take part.
