say their kid is online too much.
1 in 3 parents are also too insipid and weak to turn off the computer and actually be a parent.

don’t know what’s up, but I’m completely blah today. head feels kinda light, and I’m kinda cold (its 75 in my apartment right now).
Never worry though, I’m slamming green tea.
the first thing one notices when one’s goatee has been shaved off is how remarkably short one’s face actually is.
that today, as of roughly 2.5 hours ago, I’ve been in california for a year.
looking at different apartments to move to right now, always looking for jobs, dissertation work, etc. etc.
though not quite as busy as last year…no classes at least. w00t!
the left handed armrest snapped. snapped? Yes, snapped. not really sure what happened there. if this is a sign, then it bodes ill.
note to self: pay $50 for computer chair, and it’ll last a year.
next time, pay more.
Carly be right! Terday ’tis talk like a pirate day, and a grand day it is. yarr.
Me class had to do nefar’ous deeds havin’ to do with piratin’ and the like. ’twas a grand adventure, if ye will.
those lazy scurvy scallawags did’na seem to enjoy it though…so I had to give ‘em a queelhaul quiz! yarrr har har!
again, a student got tasered. This is reminiscent of the incident last November, albeit with less tasering.
My sympathies for the student are non existent, in both cases. Tasering was too harsh, sure.
But if you’re going to be a prick about having your time go over and being asked to step away from the mic, and then start resisting FOUR armed police officers, why should I feel sorry for someone when the instance reaches its logical conclusion?
There’s a time and place for resisting authority, folks, and at a forum where you’re in a bad mood because your mic got cut is not one of them.
People are writing this student a blank check because of what the police did. I refuse to. If he had used some common sense (and acted like a civilized human being) then there wouldn’t have been a need for ANY police action.
Just because you think police actions are brutal doesn’t mean you should COMPLETELY OVERLOOK the uncivilized behavior of the public.
Robert Jordan is dead. Now when will that $(#&’n series be done?
this is a serious bummer man.
it appears that my good gateway keyboard is giving up the ghost. I’ll try cleaning it out a bit tomorrow to see if I can resurrect it. Right now I’m using an even older keyboard that came with the computer monitor and case, a keyboard that is ergonomically correct, like the one the ‘rents used to have on the first PC that we got.
it’s not as bad as I feared. It certainly isn’t as good as ye olde gateway, but it’ll do for now.
what could be better than watching a bad viking movie this afternoon?
watching a bad made for tv highlander flick on sci fi this evening!
I’m five minutes in, and wow. I knew it was going to be a comedy when I read the opening story:
600 years before Columbus, North America was invaded by ruthless marauders intent on settling the shore. Something stopped them. What follows is the legend
Yeah, “ruthless marauders”…that’s guilty white man speak for “settlers,” since marauders usually head back to where they’re going.
In the words of David Hanson, he felt insulted on three levels: one he was insulted for the Native American peoples as they’re portrayed in this movie completely unrealistically and are forced to say things that really no honest human would ever say. One, for the scandinavian heritage, in the portrayal of the “ruthless marauders” (look, vikings were horrible brutes, sure, but usually those horrible brutes didn’t settle, they went back with loot, others settled), and one for the insult that this movie is to the average intelligence of the public.
I don’t think he was watching it as a comedy, because it’s hil.ari.ous.
minutes: 27…did not realize that canada was so gray.
minutes:31…willow called, it wants its sled ride back
minutes 53:…for winter time, in the mountains, there’s a lot of fog in the middle of the day
minutes 57:…note to self: when fighting vikings, keep in mind that they never look up or down, just straight forward
minutes 1:06…uff, there’s still half an hour left.
minutes 1:07…for vikings that have only been here marauding and leaving corpses about, they sure have cut off a bunch of hands
minutes 1:12…did not realize native americans raised so many bone signposts, and had so many skulls laying about that were used
minutes 1:15…king arthur called, it wants its frozen lake plot point back
mintes 1:20…viking murdering marauders sure like the eye shadow.
minutes 1:25…when knife fighting on the cliffs of mountains, remember to protect the rope you hang by just as much as you protect yourself.
minutes 1:27…unbeknownst to most people, avalanches in Canada are password protected…they won’t come down with all the yelling and screaming in the knife fighting, but say the secret password (I know who I am), and the snow starts a-fallin’
end of the movie…the native americans of canada, the vikings, and anyone foolish enough to pay to see this movie, called…we want our dignity back
