new computer on the way
or at least the parts…cost me about $930 all told for those (taxes and shipping added $100), plus the $95 I paid back in March for the case, cd drives, and monitor, makes it all told about $1030 give or take $5.
A similar computer, from what I could see with some options and software missing, from the big comp sellers would have cost me about $500-600 more.
Now, not only do I have power, I have a computer to match it up. Here are the stats:
320GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM
EVGA 640-P2-N825-AR GeForce 8800GTS 640MB 320-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ Brisbane 2.1GHz (overclockable to 2.8)
and 2 gigs of ram (plus some ram modules from the old comp that ought to work, we’ll see)
I’m pretty pumped. Usually my computers have lasted about 3 years, or at least the last 3 have. This one, since it’s a desktop, and I have no need any longer of laptop changes, I OUGHT to be able to just keep upgrading this one as needed. w00t.
bow before my computer power!
