I’m not done

I’m still ragging on Beowulf and Grendel.

Why does every movie have to CONTEMPARIZE every thing!?!?

Why do they have to take tales from the past, UPDATE them, make EVERY CHARACTER likeable/respectable to a certain degree, and then expect everyone to go along with it?

C’mon. Grendel was NOT a good “person”…he was a troll. Trolls aren’t people in the mythology, they’re enemies of man for the most part. If you’re going to make a movie about exploring a changing warrior, MAKE IT CONTEMPORARY. DOn’t change a tale from the past and use it as your template to make all the bs psychological statements you want. That changes the tale so much it’s not even a good story even more. Gag me with a fork.

Say what you will about 13th warrior(and most people have) but at least there the enemy was BAD. Maybe not evil, but clearly a threat that cannot be reasoned with. King arthur is similar, to an extent. HOwever, they took an enemy that was real and attempted to make a caricature of a bad guy that was so fake it was laughable.

AGH.

stop. Just stop.

Beowulf and Grendel

it’s like Harry and the Henderson’s meets 13th Warrior meets King Arthur.

that’s about it.

except, y’know, worse than all of those.

I’ve joined the 21st century

By joining an online movie rental system.

Not netflix.

Blockbuster.

Why would I do this? Mainly because you get free in-store rentals with each of the rentals shipped to you. I can fleece the company and watch more movies more often this way. It makes me happy.

And there didn’t seem to be that much of a difference between the two.
