all evening

spent putting new joysticks and buttons on the Mario Bros. arcade machine. I had to buy a wire stripper, some small sockets, some wire nuts and some end connectors.

It took me all evening because who ever did it before hand was sloppy. there were wires hanging out all over, no electrical tape, random soldering spots…it was very messy.

Now it’s all cleared up though. No solder spots. all connected via either wirenut or connector.

It’ll make replacing the buttons/joysticks a lot easier next time.

and it’s fun to play with the new stuff installed.

I am such a nerd.

medieval vs. modern

staying in a church, this immigrant is seeking the same sanctuary offerred to criminals, runaway apprentices, and others given by the medieval church.

The government seems not to want to enter into the church in order to apprehend her, probably just waiting for her to come out. She’s safe as long as she stays in the church. This concept of Sanctuary can be found in the old testament in Cities of Refuge, where criminals would be safe for a time from the Avenger of Blood.

So, how much of this idea of sanctuary is inborn within the western mindset, and perhaps the human mindset? That religious places are relatively safe from practices(corrupt or not) of the government?

Just something to think about.

and perhaps another reason why, much to the disgust of academics and rationalists, religion will never be stamped out.
