w00t!!!
WOOHOO!!!!
I fixed my arcade machine!!! Apparently, there’s something faulty with the wires in the back. I’ll have to go through and rewire that so it’s fixed, but it’s definitely good news.
now it displays well, though. I’m so happy!

still no decision on whether I enjoy it or not.
still, it’s loads better than the hospital.
the new job today.
I can’t judge it right now, my mind is too fried from the red eye back this morning.
After a full night’s sleep, and a full day tomorrow, then we’ll see.
I couldn’t handle any more of that class. So this afternoon, I’m sitting in the library doing research and working on papers that are due on the 20th of July, and then on the comp exam due on the 31st.
not to mention the reflection paper due on the 1st of August.
it’s called orphic traditions…but all we talk about is how we all have orphic moments of loss and woundedness.
I’m sorry, but I can’t really think of anything like that in my life. At least none to the extent that some of these people or orpheus the mythic character himself has been wounded.
I was told this morning while I was complaining about this class that it’s MY fault that I’m not engaging with the material, because I haven’t been wounded and I’m too young.
WHAT THE FLYING F$#( DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH MYTHOLOGY!?!?
I was told it was because it was taking a general experience and making it subjective. And yet, that still doesn’t answer my question. But all the people over 40 love this class.
I hope when I get their age, I won’t have to have a class that encourages me to look back at my life with such regret, and to dwell on any “woundedness”.
I guess what I’m saying is that I am going to live my life so that I don’t ever, ever EVER have to look back like these oldsters. And so far so good.
and people wonder why I’m so upset with classes like these. It’s because they encourage such a misery, such a pathetic attempt to move beyond something that a well balanced person would have been over in a quick moment. These people who love this class are so sad. It’s as if being miserable about a moment they can’t change gives them some meaning in life.
I thank God each class like this that I have faith and religion. It certainly keeps me happier.
so today’s class is dealing with people being afraid of becoming cyborgs.
and I say, if necessary, cyborgize me!
But this time, remember to install the rocket launchers. And the laser eyes.
so this afternoon went and saw two museums near the USC campus. The first had an exhibit about superheros and the science behind them. It was downright awesome.
The second exhibit was about the Bog People…the bodies and relics found preserved perfectly in the peat moss of northern germany. it was also pretty keen.
yep, my life is pret’ much boring.
almost trouble.
but I made it thanks to roommates and parents calling all the time.
early flights are a nightmare.
where everything, and I mean everything went right.
Sunday was my last day at the hospital. It was even decent. It wasn’t very busy at all. No more hospital.
Monday, I call and inquire about a job advertised as “secretarial assistant, must be a good researcher, computer intelligent, and internet savvy”, and had a party over my lack of employment.
tuesday, bought the Mario Bros. Arcade machine in non-working order for $40, the very same game that I’d wanted for a very long time, plus an arcade machine. it’s tougher to get cooler than that. Also got a call about an interview for the aforementioned job.
wednesday, talked to the repair people at northern amusement, as well as had the interview for the job.
thursday, brought the machine down to northern amusement, was told that it had to be sent to walker to be fixed. Said ok, also saw a keen looking donkey kong game in a corner(but didn’t say anything). Got a call in the afternoon that the machine was working, and they were also wondering if I would be interesting in picking up the donkey kong machine. Got my mario bros. game home, and played a bit of it. Got a call offering me the job(I took it).
Friday, picked up the donkey kong machine and played that. Well, there is ONE problem with the mario bros. machine, but now that it works it will be easy for me to fix it. A screen capacitor kit will replace every problem with the machine right now. And tomorrow I leave for california(first class!)
very rarely do I have a week when it’s so overloaded with good things happening.
yes, the arcade machine is the same game that I lost in an auction two years ago.
but this one was $40 for the machine, and $87 for the fixing of said machine. It’s in kind of rough shape, so it could stand some repairs, but it still rocks the hizzouse.
people can come over and play it I suppose.

Yep! I’m the proud owner of an arcade machine! And tomorrow…tomorrow I’m getting Donkey Kong!
