this printer

has given up the ghost.

I’m relatively certain I’ve still got another one around here, but it hasn’t been used in roughly 5 years, plus it’s a ribbon type printer. I’m not even sure it’s still got ink on it.

But this printer has been an excellent scanner/copier. I bought it for $30 on clearance back in 2003 when I returned from Europsring. It’s a lexmark.

Let me warn you right now: Lexmark does NOT make a good printer. it’s always had trouble loading paper, the ink cartridges are about as expensive as a liver replacement, and it burns through those like crap through a goose(cartridges, not livers).

so I’m hoping that I can rope together some fundage and get a new printer somewhere along the line. I’d like another scanner/printer…they’re very nice.

leave it to my printer to die in the middle of paper writing season.

crap.

well, I am going to have to set aside that Pacifica paper and take an incomplete on it. I was already planning on doing this, but thought that this weekend I could get everything done and do the paper tonight.

Instead, I talked over stuff with committee members about the academic side of the thesis, and will be working on that this evening. Which is good, because then they don’t need to mark the paper adversly with “needs revision” before sending it on through.

it’s a good thing I was prepared for this, and have the other two papers done. Otherwise, this would REALLY get on my nerves.

btw lent’s over, but I don’t know if I’ll pick up the swearing where I left off.

Neil Young writes anti-war album?

Noooo! How can this be??? Neil Young is a war protestor??? He’s writing an album against war!?

How is this news?

I’ve got some interesting news stories for you too…like the sky appears blue at times, clouds are made of water, and I’m a grad student.
