values
so, after 3 days of very hippy-ish classes I’m confused.
We are told that we must look within to find the answers to life, to explore ourselves so as to come to an answer that is supposedly glorious and awesome.
I’ve heard this before, and recently I heard that someone gets their values from “inside” rather than say from a religion. Now, me, I’m a defender of religion, and especially about getting values from said religion. That isn’t acceptable, of course, especially for today’s ego driven society about the self, and how it ought to be elevated above anything in the outside world. I’ll tell you though, I thought about doing things somebody else’s way, and uff da.
I decided to lay aside my assumed(and inborn) lutheranism. I looked within. I didn’t find values, however. I found a poop factory.
that’s right. You people looking within to find your values, you’re taking it from a poop factory.
I mean, c’mon! Look at your bodies…what do they do? They consume things in order to keep the mind alive, and without the body the mind is nothing. What does the body output in addition to energy for the mind? Poop. The body constantly creates poop. Even while sleeping, when the mind is at rest(at least consciously), the body is making poop.
So c’mon…let’s look within our bodies, what’s there? A non-stop poop factory.
So, I’ll continue to take my values from Religion. It just doesn’t sit well looking within to find values from a poop factory.
