I just reviewed some year-end finances, and something surprising came to the fore.
I could quit the hospital at the end of January. Cold Turkey.
No more having to put up with retards, no more having to deal with stupid rules set by the administration, no more working 8 hours after putting in 6 at the school….ahhhhh.
Yeah. The only issue is this: I had taken out a little bit extra from student loans this year in order to afford an overseas trip in August. It would have covered almost everything, including plane ticket. Here’s the kicker though: with frequent flyer miles, the ticket isn’t an issue anymore since I have earned a trip to anywhere in the world.
I’d have to tighten the buckle a bit in august if I were to go overseas, have to stay at hostels and such, but I’m relatively certain that it’d be worth it.
I’m not certain that I would actually quit the hospital altogether though…dropping down to casual would work just fine for me, pick up a day here and there in order to pay for fun stuff and whatnot. In addition to mad money, however, is the perk of the hospital’s gym that I could use any time for free. Any time. Like at 11 if need be. Plus, working one day here and there would pay for kumdo which I want to start up again. Both of which are needed should I want to see the resolution to lose 40 lbs. see the actuality. Which it will.
knowing that I can quit any time has certainly helped me get through today with no problem. We’ll re-assess finances at the end of January and see where I’m at, and if all goes smoovely, the hospital will definitely see a great deal less of me.
and knowing that I’ve got to do 9 10-12 page papers for Pacifica, plus a comp essay, plus 3 comps for BSU, plus a regular class at BSU, plus 50 more pages on my master’s thesis, well….spare time is definitely going to be at a premium.
mmmm….the smile on my face at the prospect of quitting the hospital is very wide.
