Brigid’s Cross Bemidji MeadI had some “mead” last night at brigid’s cross here in town. I’ve gotta say that it’s ok. But it isn’t standard mead. I’m relatively certain that it’s more Mead Brandy, described here Mead Brandy – A traditional mead was brewed and then distilled into a brandy-like liquor. Variations of this may well have included adding honey to other distilled spirits to sweeten the drink, as with Drambuie. Many of us who tasted it last night observed it was more like brandy than it was like wine. The mead from brigid’s is imported from Ireland, where those drunkards probably mislabled something. Just thought you should all know the difference, so if anyone has some of MY mead, they won’t be too confused at the drastic difference between the two. The Fates Have Agreed! The Froyd© is the life of the party! SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). You not only show up to the party (no matter what else is going on in your life), you are the party. Celebration is healing. Through your laughter you help the world. Froydstravaganza Pt 2tomorrow night. byob, unless you want to drink water/milk/cokezero. Apparently there’s been a new year added to the Chinese Calendar. Next year, it is the year of the Froyd. I suggest an appropriate presence of mind for such an auspicious future…get ready to rock. fizzythe mead is. an interesting flavor right now too. I do know I’ve got to move it to better bottles. the water jugs are not twist tops, and so therefore all the carbonation is going. curses. 4.0that’d be the grades I got this semester. I’m reasonably happy. I’ll be happier once these mythology papers are out of the way though. I’ve settled on a Joseph Campbell topic, I’m going to look at how his view that symbols should be made meaningless had affected his study of myth and how it may have contributed towards critiques of his scholarship. Fresh VegetablesI don’t know why, and it’s never quite come over me so strongly before, but while grocery shopping today, I felt an overwhelming urge for fresh vegetables. I love raw vegetables. Cooked vegetables I’m ok with, so long as there is a bit o’ the crunch left in them. Also, in case anyone is wondering, corn is NOT a vegetable. It is the devil’s playground. Words cannot describe how much I despise corn in its many forms. Where was I? Oh yes. Fresh vegetables. I picked up some supplies for some stir fry, and am planning on having that for supper. I got home and as soon as the groceries were away, I ate a tomato. That hit the spot. Some people may think that’s just a cliche, but those people have never had a craving that was so perfectly fulfilled as was the tomato being eaten by me this afternoon. mmmm….vegetables. |
