And you know what? I’m happy for her.

so to fix my computer’s sound card, I’ve got to send it to the repair center in texas. It will take 5 days for the box to get here(the shipping and handling to and from gateway is $44 total), where they will take 7-10 days depending on the availability of the part.

which means that I will be without this bad ass laptop for about 2 weeks once things get rolling.

That sucks.

A lot.

I mean, don’t get me wrong…I love my old laptop. Perhaps too much. But this next two weeks will see me heading out to California, and taking that thing along with me is going to be a pain because it has no battery life, so I’ve got to lug the AC adapter along too…my notes are going to SUCK next time.

*sigh*

this weekend has kinda sucked(my dvd player crapped out on me, and my PS2 is on its final legs). Although I did win the bread contest. Arguably the best thing that happened.

It was a battle…my homemade, from scratch, untested beer bread vs. Tastefully Simple Beer Bread mix…it was a titanic struggle between down home cooking and crass consumerism…time honored personal cooking vs. a manufacturing mechanistic monstrosity…

was it any surprise that mine won? 4 out of 5….the one I didn’t get couldn’t choose.

I am the bread cooking king.

Maybe I should quit grad school and become a baker.

and don’t think I haven’t considered it…at length.

I finally got usage out of my flask. Which is good, because i’ve got like 3 of them. But this time, it was with whiskey…mixed well with my diet coke.

seriously though…I had a good time. I even ran through and jumped over a smaller bonfire. I am crazy.

my laptop lost all sound. the speakers make a clicking noise, but no go.

goddammit.

on the other hand, suddenly my $180 investment on extra warranty three months ago suddenly comes into usage.

goddammit. I can’t listen to my tunes. this sucks. I don’t think that it has fully sunk in for you readers. I listen to music out of my PC, if not 24/7 at least 20/6….it is a huge part of my life. To be without it is debilitating to be sure.

*sigh*
