David Hanson Party

if you can read this blog, you’re invited on Saturday October the 15th to a party at the house de la Froyd.

David Hanson will be back in town, and such an event needs a bit o’ a party/get together to…um…get together.

it’ll be fun. byob. good times.

and this time, Dave will keep his clothes on.

Hopefully.

Greek and Roman

was pretty good today, but then it went downhill for many of the reasons that Lit classes go downhill: it attempted poetry interpretation.

bleh.

Now don’t get me wrong, Sappho’s poetry is pretty good. I enjoyed most of it.

But when a feminist lesbian puts their spin on it, and utterly destroys the beauty of the poem by forcing their view onto it, rather than seeing what’s in the poem first, it’s a bit of a waste of time.

consequently, I played a lot of freecell and hearts this afternoon.

Myth Myth Myth Myth

woohoo! Greek and roman myth today. Should be a blast, I’m hoping.

If it’s not, I’m quite sure you’ll all hear about it. Yesterday’s African rituals class was extremely good, I enjoyed it rather a lot.(my moustache is making me talk about that…what a rakish curl it has!)

and then tomorrow it’s a class about Joseph Campbell, or as I term him: hater of christianity because he couldn’t drink the wine.

seriously though, I don’t quite understand the draw of Joseph Campbell…he isn’t that great of a writer, nor all that revolutionary for what he’s suggesting. Perhaps it’s because he hates christianity so much that people like him around here.

*shrug* Who knows.
