This is an interesting article from scientific american, about how a hurricane could show up, swamp lower louisiana and utterly flood new orleans as they say, “at best a troubled Venice, at worst a modern-day atlantis”.
This was in 2001.
The power of the human mind to utterly ignore threatening information that costs a lot of money and manpower is frightening.
