kumdo almost killed me

tonight, running around in full armor(chest, waist, gloves and helmet) hitting targets, basically sprinting between them.

After about 20 minutes of that, I had to sit out. I was out of breath and dizzy, and was not too stable on the ol’ feet. I had to take off my helmet and sit out the rest of the time, and didn’t even get a chance to spar. I tried a couple of times to put my helmet on, but that just made me more dizzy.

no sparring for me tonight. it made me sad.

Of course, this is the 7th day in a row working nights, I haven’t been drinking as much water/kool-aid as I usually do, and the gym was around 90 degrees in there. It was pretty rough.

I should’ve called in sick, but there’s no one to work, so here I am. of course, after 3 glasses of water, and cooling down, i’m much much better.

other than the fact I’m at work. which stinks. ah well. so it goes.

Of The Media

Some people have “noticed” the media is acting in concert with the government, and it’s hiding certain things from public knowledge and basically running interference for the people in control. Many blame this on CNN or on Fox News, and decry the general destruction of the independence of the media, and the hoodwinking of the american people.

To those people who think this is a new occurrence, I suggest going out and buying The Day The Earth Stood Still, not only because the movie is kick ass, but they included a 1951 newsreel with the movie.

it sounds so much like the news going on today when broadcasting, it is uncanny.

the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Pressing Buttons

some people know just which buttons to press for me.

A coworker needed a couple of hours off on sunday, and asked if I’d take half of her shift. I immediately said no. This weekend is my first weekend where I don’t have school stuff, or work, or anything, and the entire thing could be mine for the taking(perhaps to see a circus?). so of course I said no. I mean, some people may have weekends off, but I’ve worked 90% of them since last december.

of course, then she explained WHY she needed it off. Apparently, her son is coming home for the weekend(he was in england), and sunday is the one time where they can all get together with her daughter’s family too.

and then I felt bad for wanting the whole weekend to myself.

so now I’m working half of her shift on sunday.

stupid buttons.

wonder of wonders!

she didn’t die after last time, she came back in, and she went home after being seen!

wow. I guess I can breathe easy now, they won’t sue the hospital.

who’d have thought that having your stomach screwed with in a gastric bypass surgery would cause stomach pain later?
