and thus to sleep

to awake and be at work at 7AM.

No news other than the aforementioned phone call on the financial aid situation. I suppose Monday I’ll find out.

but…sleep makes all things better. When I’m in an especially bad mood, or had an exceptionally horrible day, it’s either video games or sleep.

and having played video games, now it’s time for sleep.

C’mon people.

a review about NARC by CNN.com brings up the point about violence and drug use in video games.

And then, predictably, it goes into every oldster that denounces it. IF the oldsters would read the game reviews and IF the oldsters would spend some time with gamers, they’d realize that there is very little chance of this game getting to kids.

Because this game blows chunks.

If you people are going to complain about a game, complain about Grand Theft Auto, not about some game that is so bad they need to sell it for $20 brand new. This is why the gaming community laughs at you people…because you don’t know what you’re talking about.

%*&^$

I’m almost ready to break out again in the massive swearing of yesterday…but now I’ve got video games back so I can cope again.

ANyway. Just received a call from the business office at Pacifica…wanting to make sure that I know that I owe them way more than what had originally been told to me.

Thanks, guys!!! As if I didn’t know about it first, when you suddenly get a full $15000 BILL GODDAMNED DROPPED ON YOUR LAP IT DOESN’T EXACTLY GO AWAY!!!!!

So. Hell, why doesn’t every department at Pacifica decide to call me and let me know that I owe them money that I can’t pay without financial aid, hmm?

Makes me feel REAAAAAL good. Just another call.

I fucking dare you.

speaking of shoddy service

what’s up with eBay sellers and feedback?

When I sold on eBay a couple years ago, it was an understood part of business that once the seller received payment and sent out the product, INSTANT feedback from the seller would be given. As a buyer, feedback would be left as soon as the product arrived and was in advertised condition.

I just bought a couple of items on eBay, and either A)the seller told me that feedback would be left for me as soon as feedback was left for them(which is stupid, as I’ve fulfilled to PERFECTION my part of the deal by paying them), or B) feedback is never left because the seller is too lazy.

As soon as the opposite party’s obligation to the deal is finished feedback should be left. if someone paid on the very same day they bought the item, then feedback should be left that very same day. If someone sent a money order, than feedback should be sent when that money order showed up. The only time a seller has a RIGHT and OBLIGATION to leave negative feedback is when the winning buyer either doesn’t communicate or doesn’t pay. Otherwise, sellers ought to leave positive feedback for getting paid. That is the buyer’s part of the deal.

It shouldn’t depend on the buyer’s feedback which comes from the item. If there is negative feedback to be left there, than there was something the seller did wrong, and it shouldn’t have to be any of this ‘you scratch my back, I scratch yours’ business. This isn’t a friendship. This is a business transaction.

brigid’s cross and bad service

so I was in Brigid’s Cross last night with a friend. We went and sat in the back, and the time was about 9:30 or so. Now I don’t know if they stop serving with waitresses and such after a certain time on weekdays or not, so that may be it…but I doubt it.

I think it’s just extremely shoddy service there. Last night, we sat for about 20 minutes without service, so we decided to get up and leave.

Now, some may say that the staff didn’t notice us. I say take note of this: a bartender that came from behind the bar with a brigid’s cross shirt on walked RIGHT BY US looked at us odd and then went outside to smoke or something.

Now…let’s see here…a respectable establishment would have staff there that would tell us we needed to go to the bar, or that they’d send someone right over, or what have you. Now maybe it could have been that no one noticed us sitting there(it was in the nook in the back part of the bar, the one bench situated in the wall), and that could very well have been it. There were no bartenders AT ALL when we walked into the place. None.

So, I guess what I’m saying is this: Unless Brigid’s Cross decides to hire some staff that will actually serve tables and won’t walk by them when they notice no drinks, then they’re going to continually lose business to every other bar in town. Union Station? Their staff there is great for serving people quickly(and even on bad nights, they’re quicker than B Cross). Keg ‘N Cork? They’re slower than Union but tons better than Brigid’s Cross.

Brigid’s Cross in Bemidji: Good beer, bad service. And service is more important now that there is another bar that serves Guinness.

and I know google hits show up for Brigid’s Cross, so HOPEFULLY this will get back to the owner and they can fix this despicable problem.
