Regarding that last post….

it is no longer valid.

Apparently our advisor for Fire Ring Voices only asked for $1193 from the foundation here at school.

So today, Holly and I ran around looking at quotes, to see how much we’ll have to beg from other businesses.

Last year we had a similar funding problem(also caused by the same advisor), but we were told that we could not ask area businesses for donations because they already donated to the Foundation.

Well, here we are, probably $500 short due to that advisor. So, in essence, we’ll be begging cash from people as soon as we’ve got an exact quote of how much we need. As well, we’ll have the book in front of them on my computer, where the business logo is going to go IN the book, and a quote showing them exactly how much we need. So hopefully things will go ok.

I’ve learned that both here at school and in real life, nothing gets done unless you do it yourself.

publishing a book

is a lot of work, a lot of decisions, and a lot of technologically advanced savvy to get things to work out just right. We are hours away from being done with Fire Ring Voices, and I couldn’t be more pleased or proud of the book.

In the last two days, we’ve gone by having hard copies of the pieces and between Holly and I we’ve typed and edited onto computer all of our submissions(no text recog software glitches for us!), decided on font and format of the book. Andin two days I’ve leared pagemaker well enough to be employed using it.

Now today we run the finished copy to the printers, dust off our hands, and say to everyone involved ‘congratulations folks!’
