Ah, the taste of Magic
that’s Magic : The Gathering, by the way, and I’m not talking this new upitty card game where you play it ‘online’ against ‘millions’, where you have to pay through your bleeding eyesockets where you recently had eyes before you sold them to play the game to get cards.
Nono…I’m talkin’ old school, 4th Edition Magic: The Gathering. Perhaps some of you have heard of the Microprose game called Duels of the Planeswalkers, and the expansion pack Spells of the Ancients…
and if not, you are fools. Anyway, back to the point of the posting: I’ve now gotten the game to work on my new laptop and on my old one as well. Better yet, the programs will connect to each other to play against whomever is at the comps.
Wait, for those of you ignorant of what makes this great, it’s this: Complete 4th edition magic, with cards from the releases up to Arabian Nights, to fight duel style. Now let me make that clear, when I say ‘cards’, I mean EVERY SINGLE CARD. The decks are now on how good you can create them, no longer on who has the most cash to plop down on the cards. In other words, the game is sweet, and totally awesome. Like ninjas.
So, in closing, if anyone has a hankering for the bygone days of GREAT magic the gathering, you should let me know so that we can play sometime.
Note to Dave Hanson: You’ll be getting a copy of this program when I’m in Minneapolis next time.
