Jacob’s Room Part Deux:
some questions that might bear closer scrutiny:
If it was a book about how war affected people, and apparently ‘political’, why is there no mention of the buildup to war, and in fact the only thing mentioned EXTREMELY politcal being Home Rule?
And why was Home Rule for Ireland Brought up three times in chapter 8,10 and 11(I think those were the chapters) in close conjunction with Jacob’s female companionship issues?
Is the room of the title really a physical entity, as in a room? Or is the entire book about the space that Jacob made in other people’s thoughts, some room taken up by him in their minds, hence the title ‘Jacob’s room’?
Is it necessary to say ‘quote/endquote’ when reading an essay?
