King Arthur

is a good-bad movie. It’s bad because it’s so ridiculous and preposterous but it’s good because it is mindless mindless fun.

And then there’s Keira Knightley…..*RAWR!*

Renee….

whatever your decision may be, do what you gotta do. don’t let others tell you what’s right.

School is not the be all/end all. Especially Bemidji State University.

this one just isn’t turning out like I thought it should, and frankly, I’m bored with it.

Lookin’ For A New Job

I’m fed up with this one. After a high charged meeting on Tuesday, where we were told that if we didn’t complete parts of the registration(read: parts that had to do with business office, and their responsibilities of insurances) we were responsible for tracking down the patient while still in the hospital.

riiiiight. Also, we were told to take ‘educated guesses’ on parts of a form dedicated to Medicare, so that it could be completed. nice. Educated guesses on a legally binding document. I’m guessing this WASN’T cleared with the government before telling employees to do this?

So, what did I do at the meeting? I first said we don’t have time for this because it’s retarded. With all the other insurance checking things we in admissions have to do(Checking eligibility, having the patient fill out Medical Assistance Applications(oh yes, it’s our job), faxing said apps for the patients), we simply do NOT have the time to do the rest of our jobs.

That of course didn’t fly. So I did the next logical thing: I asked that we be bumped up to the next pay schedule where business office is, having to cover more and more of the responsibilities that used to be theirs. Nope.

Today we received a message that basically said: You have to do all of these things, and you’ll like it, because it’s about the patient’s experience here at the hospital, not about who’s job is whose. If you don’t think you can do this, you need to talk to me. Help get our department back on track.
That came from the boss.

oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t realize that expecting the organization to respect Unionized differentiation in job titles was getting us off track. I didn’t realize expecting to be respected as an employee was getting our department off track. I didn’t realize that our department was the shitting ground of the business office, and our refusal and argument about that was getting us off track.

So. Anyone have a job that I can do? Because this one that I have now is not long for this world.
