THANK GOD IT IS DONE.
Got our MLA Style manual ‘papers’ back today. Why do I have that in quotes?
Let me explain: We were each assigned a chapter in the MLA style guide to write a summary on, 500-1000 words. Herein lies the crux of the matter: none of these chapters have much more than 1000 words in them.
Apparently, though, I got a b- on my paper. It seems that I’m repeating myself too much, and I need more practice writing. Here’s a newsflash for anyone who assigns summaries with word count, and then notices someone is repeating themselves often: Don’t expect less repetition when you assign a word count of not much less than that of the chapter itself.
Just to put this in perspective to Pacifica…this is the book(the MLA style manual) that they said, and I quote, ‘We don’t expect you to read this, just use it for your papers and such’
Why, then, are we doing it for a class at BSU? I won’t mention lazy teaching styles, as I figure that’ll come up regardless in a class where the teacher has the students do 75% of the presentation and ‘teaching’.
All in all, after I’m done with the paper, I give this class a D for how it was taught.
