Election Night
I’m going to say that it doesn’t matter who you vote for.
If you aren’t hanging out with friends, watching the american system work, then I pity you.

standard form rejection letter from Daw Books.
Your manuscript does not fit our needs at this time, and remember that others who have been turned down by us have gone on to publish other places.
Of course, they didn’t include a list of these ‘other places’…
Oh well.
*shrug*
Vote.
For anyone except Kerry.
Specifically Nader.
Do it.
Although, if you vote for Bush, I won’t be angry with you.
In fact, I’ll be quite pleased.
Do it.
is ridiculous.
and let me rephrase the title. ALL OF BEMIDJI STATE UNIVERSITY IS RIDICULOUS.
why, you may ask? I’ll tell you why. Each of the last three semesters I’ve tried registering for graduate classes, as I’ve graduated, and am now pursuing a masters degree which is half way finished.
The jackasses in records again this semester won’t let me register for grad classes. ‘Student Program Required’ or some such bs. When I send them an email wondering why, they tell me ‘uh-duuuuuh….we don’t know, check with the grad office’ which pretty much sums up all the dealings I’ve had with BSU outside of the english and comp sci departments. No one has any damned clue what is going on, and they give you the run around until you are so frustrated that you’re ready to just quit…and then you FINALLY find either a person who knows what you’re doing, or your advisor(who is doc Morgan by the way, excellent dude), who has been going through the same hassles as you have, finally finds someone.
It’s really quite obvious that no one in offices outside of direct dealings with students realize that students are who pay their checks. So…if you’re considering going to BSU for whatever, you’d best be ready to deal with a hell of a lot of headache.
