Time for work.

Wow. A more ironic song for this posting probably couldn’t happen. Time to get ready for work, unfortunately. Blah. All day having to put up with sick people and irritating coworkers.

But I suppose I shouldn’t complain TOO much, I mean…I could be working at a fast food place.

Rap as poetry

Joseph “Run” Simmons, of the rap group Run-DMC, wants to become poet-laureate of queens.

I agree. Even if I don’t like most rap, it is a form of poetry to an extent. Provided there is an artistry to it, as is the case in much of Run-DMC’s music, it is a form of poetry.

Just like rap, I don’t enjoy much of modern poetry, there is something about constant whining about your so-called ‘troubled life’, or EVEN WORSE, randomly putting words and phrases together, that just is NOT artistic.

But if there is an EVIDENCE of artistry to it, then it should be recognized. Hell, even Seamus Heaney recognizes the verbal energy in some rap.

Ingmar Bergman

Ingmar Bergman won’t watch his own films, because they depress him, he says.

Now, I usually can’t stand bergman, even if I haven’t seen any of his movies. Any director whose films are CONSTANTLY jabbered about my movie-lovin’ friends(and they do…CONSTANTLY, and not about different films, either…the same damned bergman movies OVER AND OVER….ok, I’m done now) usually gets a vote of disdain from me.

But now the great man has said that even HE won’t watch his movies…well, that’s something that gets a big thumbs up from me. Now I don’t have to watch them either.

Thanks Ingmar Bergman! You just received the ‘Froydscar’ for best director.
