An interesting take on Parenting and Video Games

This take on video gaming is really quite entertaining. I agree completely with the fact that sometimes you are ‘in the zone’, as it were.

As for the violence, there’s only been one time where I have threatened violence upon another’s body…well, BESIDES when I’m playing Dr. Mario against Josh. It was when lil’ Froyd(my esteemed brother, member of the elite) was being mouthy, and I was telling him to shut up. I had to get up from playing my Zelda game on the SNES due to having to help out with the preparation of the even meal.

The lil’ Froyd didn’t like common sense(and still has trouble grasping it at times), and even more, didn’t understand that the wrath of Froyd falls heavily upon the head of those who screw with video game saves.

I’m just saying that its a damned good thing that lil’ Froyd ran to a bathroom with a lock on the door, otherwise…well lil’ Froyd would have been pulp. 12 hours of game gone because I didn’t save, and lil’ Froyd locked in a bathroom with me threatening all kinds of bodily harm to him. Supper was tense that night. Although, in defense of my actions, it wasn’t just the game loss that set me off, he had been mouthing off to Ma Froyd all day, being quite rude. If there’s one thing I don’t like, is when someone is mouthin’ off to their ‘rents. Well, that thing and 12 hours of gaming GONE. And in my defense, I was like 16. Maybe 17. Ok, goddamn it. It was yesterday.

I don’t think I’ve played the game since.

*sigh* I hate this.

Man alive. I go to sleep at noon:30, and here it is 5 and I’m awake. Can’t get back to sleep so I hop on the net. I’ll probably get back to sleep around 7, and get 3 more hours.

But I’d venture to say that even 7.5 hours of sleep in the afternoon/evening cannot compare with just 3 hours of sleep in the darkness of early morn.

I’m so tired. I’m tired in ADVANCE of tomorrow which to put it in a word, is going to be hellish. 2 hours of sleep from 7:30-9:30, class from 10-1:15, homework from 1:15-4(because that rat bastard for people and the environment assigned us something you have to read at the library), class from 4-5:15, supper and then sleep from 6-8, then kumdo, followed immediately forthwith by work. Get home from work 7 AM on friday morning, have class from 9-11. Then sweet sweet sleep. So, from 10 PM tonight, to 11 AM on Friday, I’ll be receiving a total of 4 hours. Maybe. If God looks down upon me with mercy.

You day workers, look upon the night and despair!

About the Music currently listening to…

You’ll notice that for the last three posts, I’ve been listening to what may be assumed to be asian music. It is. Its annoyingly addictive, and gets stuck in your head worse than commercial jingles.

And I blame Jon Hatch for getting me hooked. He also hooked me up with these songs.

I do have to say though, that Yoko Kanno I knew to be awesome before I got a couple songs from Jon. She and the band ‘Seatbelts’ did ALL of the music for Cowboy Bebop, one of the best written shows ever to come out. I love it!

Good times, suckas.

Drowning in tasty!

So its said if you’re ever scuba diving, and you get disoriented, follow the bubbles because they shall take you to the surface.

If I’m ever drowning in guinness, you can be sure that I’ll be following the bubbles…even though they go downwards.

Cause drowning in Guinness is listed at #7 at cool ways for Froyd to die.

Milly has infected Kamran

Ok, so for all of those who think I’m nuts for talking to my cat, I offer you evidence of Kamran.

Many of my readers know him. He’s the president of the Philosophy club, a leftist on the political scale, and many would say he has much common sense, knowlege and wisdom.

So since HE talks to my cat, I’m not crazy, I’m just as normal as Kamran. Here’s the scene:

Last night I was getting ready for work, and Kamran was mocking me. The cat sat down in front of him, and meowed. And Kamran said ‘Yes, I’m going to bed.” Milly meowed again.
And then Kamran said “But I’m not taking you with me cat. Instead, I’m choosing Freidrich Nietzche!”
Whereupon, he grabbed his Nietzche doll and waved it in front of the cat and in a strange voice said “hahaha! Cat, it is I, Nietzche who will rest with Kamran tonight!” and then Kamran hugged his little doll and went down to his room with much laughter.

The cat was non-plussed. So in all reality, either Kamran’s f’ed up in the head, OR the cat really can communicate.
