So today was going peachy keen until…I LOST THE MARIO BROS. ARCADE GAME AUCTION!!! That really stunk. But that is ok, $400 still in the savings account. Wheee! But before that, went and saw Secret Window starring Johnny Depp. Saw it with Natasha, Mark and Jeana. “s an all right flick, I was a little disappointed with how it was written/made. But the acting was magnificent, Depp was brilliant and Turturro(sp?) was genius as well. I could have stood MUCH more of him actually. Ah well.
Afterwards, we went for coffee and discussed the brilliant yellow journalism of Adam Steele in the Northern Herald. Its great when you take an article, and it has more adjectives in its first paragraph than a creative non-fiction essay has in the entire thing.
After that I went home, and lost the auction. *sigh*. ’s ok. Mark and Jeana played Super Mario Bros. 3 for like 4 hours after that, it was pretty insane. I headed over to the Union to visit a eurospring buddy who’s in town and say hi to him. Left there at 10:30. I’m getting a little ill of diet pepsi in that place. Blah. Nutrasweety.
Now about when Jeana beat SMB3 for the first time, my computer decided to start going on the fritz. This frightened me a little bit, for the main reason that the laptop is where I keep the most current form of the senior project. So I argued with that quite a bit, and got the important files off of it. Now i”m trying to get it to repair the bad sectors in memory(which appears to be the problem) without freezing up all the damned time.
And I’m working on my desktop while its running…and I miss the desktop. The monitor is HUGE. I can feel the radiation from this 19″ behemoth slowly mutating my brain cells into a SUPERIOR being.
I hate it when my laptop is down. Its not letting me get into hotmail, adjust my Eudora Mail, do ANYTHING that I require it to do on a several times a day schedule. This worries me quite a bit, actually. But if my damned comp sci minor is worth anything, it’ll be fixed by the morrow. I really don’t want to replace it.
On the other hand, ’s possible that I didn’t win the arcade machine so that I’d have money to put towards a laptop. Who knows.
Thank God for two computers. And the relatively little know how to work a bit behind the scenes to get the things to work.
Also, Thank God for typewriters, where the majority of the senior project is on HARD COPY PAPER anyways, albeit sometimes not in readable/understandable form. No matter. I shall prevail.
