Happenings tonight

So, Josh comes over and I got my ass handed to me in Dr. Mario. It was really rough. I beat him the first couple of times, and then he just walloped me as if I were a small red-headed step child runt. It made me sad.

After that, I talked with Nikki from eurospring and Lisa from moorhead.

*sigh* Stupid Sean.

Perhaps I was a bit hasty

Perhaps I was a bit hasty in the last post…

Maybe women in college really date outstanding, nice guys who are really a credit to society and their parents who raised them…

Of course, people would never get this part of those guys because the GIRLS ARE ALWAYS BITCHING ABOUT THEM, and rarely saying anything good about them.

So maybe I was wrong. Still doubt it though.

Society’s Demand for Nice Guys

NOTE: The women in this article apply to MOST women, not ALL women. And this is the only time that I’ll use blogspace to bitch and moan about women…for the foreseeable future anyways.

Shit. Yeah, so I’m one of those guys in that aforementioned book in the previous post, that is a ‘nice guy’. I’ve been a christian all my life, and have been brought up to be a ‘nice guy’. Does that mean that I still won’t kick your ass if you try something? Hells no.

Does being a ‘nice guy’ hurt on the college dating scene? Yes. It seems that all the womenfolk out there in college want either men that are complete assholes, or men that they can complain about for being absent all the time.

Women don’t want ‘nice guys’, they want jerks. Why is that? Well, the way that the intro to the book sounded, it seems that the jerks are more closer to the passionate way that men are ’supposed’ to act. That sort of makes sense…

Does this mean that I’ll stop being a ‘nice guy’? No.
Does this mean that I’ll die childless, alone, and wasting away in some nursing home? Eh. Probably.
Do I care? Sorta.
Enough to whine about it on the blog? Apparently so!

Anyways. There you have it. Women in college don’t want men who’ll provide a good future, a stable place, and pretty much all the feelings they’ll be able to emote…they want a man who’ll be an asshole to them.

Maybe this’ll change after college…though I honestly doubt it.

My take on Old Testament Vs. New Testament

I was surfin’ the other classmates blogs just now, and I came across Tammi’s, and saw an entry dealing with violence being portrayed in hockey games, and a current book that she’s reading.

The book seems to try and explain to women that men have a natural wild side, or passions, and “most men abandon those dreams and desires— aided by a Christianity that feels like nothing more than pressure to be a nice guy”.

I’d have to say its society more than christianity. Society has pressured christianity as much as the other way around. Go to any church in the country, and you’ll see the effects of society’s pressure to be ‘nice’. The only time the Old Testament is even brought up is to offer up the prophecies for Jesus coming into the world. Even in Sunday School, what little we get of the Old Testament is about Moses wandering around the desert for 40 years.

There is nothing of the vengeful, angry God prevalent in more than half the bible, in church nowadays. Christianity, in the parlance of our times, has lost its balls.

How do we reconcile Jesus’ words and actions with the actions of a Wrathful God of the old testament? Here is my take on it:

The Father of the triune God is the One who deals with Society, and the interactions thereof. When a society is trying to survive(as was the case during that time for Israel, the chosen people), war is acceptable, curses are acceptable, the vengeful acts of wrath upon other cultures is more than acceptable in order that the society survive and flourish. The Law is put into place as a guide for society, as outlines for how people should act.

The Son of the Triune God(Jesus), deals with the individuals. God sent Jesus to earth because people as individuals are unable to live up to the laws that guide society. Jesus allows a path to righteousness through faith, because the law is unattainable. He laid down laws for the individual, and gave forgiveness because each person is different, and the situations are different. That is why forgiveness can come to even someone who has been an adulteress many times over(can’t remember the verse right now)…because Jesus came for the individuals, because the society had been saved, though not in autonomous form, but it wasn’t destroyed as Rome could have done.

The Spirit of the Triune God(Holy Ghost), comes into play as the Entity who tries to reconcile the individual first to Jesus’ salvation, and then to the laws for Society that were laid down by God the Father. As we are sinful, the Holy Ghost continual moves us to accept forgiveness, and repent. This makes us into better people, because we become more like how God wants us to be.

Now. This brings into the picture how war can be allowed under God’s societal laws. War, if it is needed, can be ordained by God, as He did many times in the old testament. Murder in war is still a sin, and the Holy Ghost will move you to accept forgiveness. And unfortunately, I don’t have the answers to what God would do if you die with that sin on your soul, but Jesus has posited that all who accept Him are saved.

The question that I have is: Would the sin of murder in war be put forth against the Society that ordered it, rather than the individual, as the Society is the one ultimately responsible for putting the individual in the scenario where murder was required in order to survive?

Next post will be on ‘nice guys’ vs. ‘empassioned guys’, and my take on that book that started this whole talk.

Bored Bored Bored

So, I was just sitting here(I’ve cleaned my room, woopwoop!), when I decided to try and read Josh’s Blog, or more specifically, Josh’s archives.

Damn. Kind of entertaining, but after the first three weeks, I got sorta bored. That and I read some of the comments from his classmates on Bernstein Vs. Blood, and MAN. They didn’t seem to be very open minded, or objective at all.

Oh well. Reading blog archives from personal blogs are kind of like watching someone else’s family films. The really old entries have absolutely no bearing on who the person is nowadays. Much better to start like 2 months back and read forward.

Bored bored bored.

Possible party tonight.

Wheee!

ooh! ooh! Trinity College!

So I heard back from Trinity College about my application to their Creative Writing Program, and they’ve recieved my app, and let me know that my app won’t be considered complete until I send them the information about my grades after graduation.

I emailed back to make sure that they weren’t like Antioch College, LA, and refuse my application because I hadn’t graduated yet. They replied and said it’d be no problem.

BOO-YAH!

I’m excited. Ireland would be so cool.

So, my plan is to head over there, graduate from their college, become fed up with the US(already accomplished, stupid liberals…), stay over there, begin writing and publishing lots of shit, and seduce several of my friends to the glories of Ireland. We’d be a whole new Lost Generation…except we won’t suck like Hemingway and Elliot.

Good times.

Other people

Ok. Normally I despise other people. Especially other people who talk. They talk and talk and talk and talk, I hate real life. It sucks ass. But if I’m ever to create my army, name it “God’s Wrath”, and take over the world, I suppose I should at least TRY to talk to other people.

Eh. F that.

However, I gotta give a shout out to Simon who was kind enough to give me some info about the arcade he slaves at. It all started with this insane need of mine to acquire an Arcade Machine. Doesn’t really matter if its Pac-Man, Ms. Pac Man, Galaga, Asteroids, what have you, but I would really dig getting an older machine. So that brought me to inquiring about old machines from Simon’s arcade. Now I gots to see the manager or somesuch. When I get time.

Meanwhile, I’m running over people’s blogs on the web(wait…check that…I’m GOING over people’s blogs on the web), and through Erin I found the Sad Old Goth blog. Pretty entertaining on the most part. I’m a little leery of pseudo cultures though, like this whole Goth thing. Albeit, it does make for amusing conversation at the Sci-Fi/Fantasy writing club. Speaking of Pseudo Cultures…that’s another one.

Anyways. So I found this place in Maple Lake, MN, that sells arcade machines…Nabour’s Novelty Arcade Games. “s got an asteroids tabletop for $600. I’m pretty interested…but I’d rather have a standup.

So…anyways. If any of you blog readers out there know of a place where I can get old, used, useless arcade machines on the cheap, let me know.

Meanwhile, back to cleaning my damned room.
