You know…

Y’know what I can’t stand?

People who can’t take a joke. Someone today came up to the upper-lower union where me and a group were sitting, selling candy bars. I made some off-hand comment as a joke. And she just kicked me and said ‘Shut up Sean, I’m not in the mood to joke around right now’. She was pretty angry.

Here’s the thing: I could understand this reaction if it came from someone who doesn’t know me. But as someone who has known me for a long time, she should have realized that I would have made a comment as a joke, regardless of what she was doing. She just doesn’t like it when someone makes fun of her.

I think the comment was something to the effect of ’selling candy bars for your sorority? THat’s pathetic.’

She can’t handle people making fun of things very well.

My advice for people like this? Grow up. Physically lashing out, while useful at times, will not stop the joking comments. And seriously, if you can’t take them? Then you shouldn’t be in the organization any way.

MONKEYS!!!

Those monkeys never quite stay extinct when you expect them to, according to this scientist.

Just goes to show that Brak’s mother was right. Never trust a monkey!

Stupid Band

Ok, to get this off my chest…I can’t stand the beatles. Not necessarily their music(most of the time), but the band itself.

This doesn’t come so much from any of their actions(other than John Lennons), but from the INSANE amount of press these guys still get. NEWSFLASH: They weren’t that great. Their music was pop drivel for the first five years, and the ‘innovations’ that they pursued in their other music weren’t all that innovative.

So I really don’t understand why this is still in the headlines.

And who can forgive Paul Mccartney and ‘Wings’? Good gravy.

This message would frighten me…

Ok, so an American Airlines Pilot asked people who were ‘christians’ to raise their hands on this flight, and then told those who weren’t to talk with these people about their faith.

While I’ve got to applaud the man for his concern in the welfare of the souls of his passengers, bringing up the afterlife(which you go to after DEATH), probably not the best idea to bring that up while in the middle of a large flying tin can.

And while I’m a christian(praise be to God!) there’s a better point to be made by simply living your life as God intends, rather than pressuring people to your religion. People take examples better than speeches.

And as the good Lord knows, I’m no where near the correct example of Christian living, so don’t look to me for exemplifying said rule.

An explanation is due…

All right, some reasons why the blog wasn’t updated this weekend, yes?

I worked Friday night, overnights. Saturday therefore was slow for me. I did get some v-game playing done, though, and that’s really what’s important.

Anyways. ANd then Saturday night a couple of friends came over and I whooped them in Mario Kart Double Dash (that game RULES), and then giggled profusely while watching their drunken super mario bros. attempts.

Sunday. Sunday SUNDAY SUNDAY!!! Woo! During the morning, I cleaned my room, and began the ‘closet project’. I cleaned out my closet(this was all brought on by the fact that I couldn’t find my scissors), and brought all my old computer junk that was in there to the newly dubbed ‘computer room’. I also set up my old Apple 2 GS again, and it works like a dream. I love that computer. It makes me happy.

Then I went out to the ‘rents house, and ate lunch with them, talked politics, grad plans, the forthcoming trip to LA. Good times.

In the afternoon, I finished cleaning my room, and the living room. I vacuumed. It is sparkly in here now. So sparkly, that I have trouble sleeping. Anyways. In the evening, the aforementioned friend from eurospring came up here, and we went out to eat with another friend. Good times. Then I came back here and got some homework done for class.

Then I went to sleep.

There, are you happy now?
