Sleepy time

There. It is more or less correct now, there should
be no problems with the text getting cut off by the table to the
right. I figured out that if you leave of a ‘left’ positioning marker,
then the table will float. And that’s what happened with the
content in the center, it was floating.
THanks again to Audrey and Tammi for continuing to hassle me
about the blog not working correctly.

Catch you all on the flip side.

Internal Bleeding

All righty! Those thingys for class are done. The only updates today have been for class, and I really must apologize about that. Part of the reason is the nap that I took today. Mmmm…that nap was BAD ASS!! It really was. But I was tired because I had to shovel the damned car out of the DAMNED snowbank in the damned trailer court today!

GRRRR. All because that mother-bleepin’ snow plow leaves about a foot and a half of snow piled in the end of the parking spots, and the car doesn’t go through it quite right. No matter if there is half an inch or a foot of snow on the ground, the damned plow will ALWAYS leave a foot and a half of snow in the drive. Bastard. Anyways…look at the pretty flame!

Blogger Ranting

Ok, I never thought I’d say this, but Orange on pink actually isn’t that bad. It has a very distinctive look to it, one that isn’t unpleasant. That said about the looks of the blog, ONTO THE BLOG ITSELF!!

I really enjoy reading Jamie’s posts. Content is king, and she has content. Her posts range from How to Look Busy at Work to commentary on the latest RPG’s coming out for the video game systems. ROCK ON! I like video games, and I hate work. This blog works for me. I identify with a great deal of her comments about such things.

Definitely worth my time reading it.

Merlot At Midnight

Who can NOT like this blog? The template that Audrey is using is very nice…nice enough to invoke slight feelings of jealousy. But I’ll get over them.

The content makes me smile. This blog she seems to be using to tell others the story of her life in the present, with occasional references to the past. Its like watching an after school TV special on the trials and tribulations of raising children….except, y’know, good.

I really like what Audrey has done with this blog.

The Life of A Non-Artist

Ok, this blog is purty. THere I’ve said it, and I shan’t hide it any longer. The pictures she’s got up work with the color scheme very well, nice and soft blues and such. The extra stuff on the sidebar is fun and fits well with her blogging subjects.

Speaking of blogging subjects, she uses her blog to talk about life and class here in the north minnesota. Since I enjoy hearing the stories and travails about life in the dorms, this blog fits right in the entertainment section for me. It makes me feel better about MY housing conditions, and that gives me a warm happy glow inside me.

So, to recap the last two paragraphs, and her blog, in three words: Purty, Alicia’s Life. That’s what her blogs all about.

The Spin Starts Here Darl
Heeheehee! I’m still giggling about this one. These people are mean. And they’re not sorry about it. Nor should they be. This blog has entries from several different people, and seems to be about sharing observances about a variety of things from life to computers, to whatever. Of course, these observances are tainted(enlightened?) by their tone and word usage. These people are not politically correct, in fact they are gloriously NOT politically correct. An example of this is from their FAQ:
Who the hell are you and what gives you the right to be so snarky?
If you want to know who we are, learn how to read and go to the fucking about choice on the menu.
And the reason we are snarky can be attributed to many different factors like, the fact people deserve it, we’re smarter than most of you and, oh I don’t know, something called freedom of speech.

So yes, quite entertaining. As far as snarky goes, its computer jargon for glitches in the system, or crashes.
The whole site is great, and that’s why I read it. It is an evil mean sarcasm, and that is refreshing compared to many sites(mine included) which are ‘nice mean sarcasm’. Deal with it.

The Bleat
I found this blog because I’m a big fan of James Lileks. He writes the Back Fence in the variety sections of the Strib, the better-than-the-local-paper paper here in minnesota. Again, I’m drawn to this site because this guy is funny.
The bleat draws more from a journal form of weblog, having one large entry per day, updated daily. He draws from his personal life with his kids, to politics, to working at the newspaper. It offers entertainment value, pure and simple. There are few links to other things in his postings, and these definitely reflect his job as a newspaper man.
Lileks shows much of who he is through the posts, and because of that, I want to keep reading. He strikes me as an honest funny, which few people do anymore. ‘s a good read, this blog.

The first thing that drew me to this site was the name: Random drivel. I like that name. It has possibilities. Why do I like it? Hey. This is about the site, not about me, so f off. According to their FAQ, Random Drivel is this: “Random Drivel is meant to be a user driven, dynamic, link sharing community Basically RandomDrivel is a centralized place to get funny/weird links to amuse you while you are at work. Kinda a low-brow humor oriented Slashdot”
It’s set up to be a filter site, with the possibility of many different people posting links and comments about them on the site. The purpose is info-sharing, and much of that info is funny. I enjoyed this site for the simple reason that it was funny no other reason. Not only is it funny, it is RANDOM funny. Due to that, this is definitely worth a visit.
The only thing that I found a little bit irritating was that the pictures included in some of the posts were not on the main page, you had to click the ‘read more’ spot to see them. Oh well.
